This flavorful sauce is great on a lot of things but particularly wonderful on pasta and roasted vegetables. You can have this ready in under five minutes if you have a food processor.
Ingredients
1 c packed fresh basil
Juice of half a lemon
1 clove garlic
1/3 c raw walnuts
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of salt
Fresh ground pepper
Add all ingredients, except the olive oil, into the bowl of a food processor and pulse several times until ingredients are chopped fine. You will probably need to scrape down the sides of the bowl in between pulses to make sure everything is chopped well. Then slowly add in the olive oil a little at a time while the processor is running. This will help the ingredients combine together well (emulsify). After ingredients are well blended, taste the mix and add more salt if needed. Then pour over fresh pasta or sauteed vegetables for a fresh, flavorful meal.
